Mednafen generic error fixed for successful emulation of pc engine or turbografx / tg16 CD

I faced issues with mednafen emulation. Mednafen is a command line utility therefore it's obviously weird to easily operate it. In other words, we do not have any GUI to communicate with mednafen.

I tried emulating PC engine or turbografx game (Castlevania Rondo of Blood (J) English translated version) on mednafen. I was not successful despite all of the best efforts on my behalf. I read the tutorial on how to emulate with mednafen (with GUI add-on), also did read official help from the mednafen itself, searched youtube for error message's fixes but all in vain.

I was getting Generic error "This Gui version is incompatible with earlier versions of mednafen 0.9.xx, update it". After updating, I was consistently receiving the same error. So were was the glitch? I continued working over the mednafen and ultimately fixed it.

Fix: Download the mednafen zip from fantasyanime. In downloaded zip all contents are okay except one i.e. mednafen.exe . The provided medgui version is not compatible with that mednafen version. Replace the mednafen version to 0.9.28-WIP as referenced by medgui helpme.txt inside same zip.

Conclusion: I used brain, spent time (in sessions) to reach the roots of issue and fixed it!

Solved / Fixed the issue: Official Mi PC Suite (aka MI Phone Manager) not working

I was also facing the above issue. This problem started when I updated my phone's (redmi 2 prime) stock ROM (MIUI 6.5 stable) to latest ROM / UI (MIUI 8.0 stable). I've later come to know on official forum site that new ROM update will disable the communication of pc suite with Windows desktop.

I extensively researched over internet to find the solution of this issue. It turned into panic and time consuming issue. Afterall I found the proper solution on MIUI global forum.

The solution is the latest MI PC Suite (translated from Chinese to English). You should know the offficial release of MI PC suite is outdated. I'm providing the link for unofficial MI PC Suite. Noteworthy it's a newer version as compared to PC suite available on MI's offficial site. I've tested it on Windows PC and bingo! it's working perfect. Good luck..

Conclusion: Let me tell you that it is the easiest method for completely managing your phone via computer. Other tricky methods that you might over internet are using developer tools like ADB or Android SDK. Nevertheless those are much complex to deal with.
